What a day we had! Â鶹app Meteorologist Grace Anello took the trip up to Meridianville Tuesday to visit with first grade at Lynn Fanning Elementary School!
These were, hands down, the most inquisitive little ones Meteorologist Grace has met in quite some time! They talked all about thunderstorms, lightning, and tornadoes. These kiddos asked about snow formation, how Meteorologists show people where it's raining in real-time, and how we predict the weather multiple days in the future.
We also shared the sweetest little moment. They kept asking Grace why she knew North Alabama towns so well...after all, Meridianville is their town! She explained to them that all big cities have teams of meteorologists whose job it is to care for their cities. Meteorologist Grace has North Alabama and Southern Tennessee. She knows those areas so well because it is her job to! Meteorologist Grace explained that to her, they aren't just kids or just people in some town...they're her people in one of her towns. She always makes sure to take extra special care of them because she cares for them!
They only had to spend a few minutes crafting a severe weather safety plan because pretty much everyone already has their severe weather safe places memorized. They told Grace they would go to someplace away from windows, in their basement or storm shelter, in the bathroom, and my new, all-time favorite "just go straight to Disney World, Meteorologist Grace! That's where I'd go."
And to top it all off, our line of goodbye high fives turned to a line of see-ya-later hugs! You're one in a million, Lynn Fanning! Thank you for a great afternoon!
